She has interned or worked with numerous organizations, such as the Innocence Project of the National Capital Region, the Austin NAACP Legal Redress Clinic, the Texas Advocacy Project, and Lone Star Legal Aid, where she fought to protect the rights of underserved Texans while recruiting, mentoring, and training a new generation of attorneys to continue the good work.
During her tenure as a Tax Master for the Harris County Civil District Courts, Elizabeth implemented courtroom policies to ensure fair treatment for all litigants, especially those representing themselves. She provided opportunities for them to secure legal representation, negotiate settlements, obtain reductions in tax delinquency through property tax exemptions and deferrals, and access Covid-related relief funds.
